Initial Assessments
Once the initial interview with the parent is conducted, we will ask the parent to bring the child in for a day’s visit. If applicable, we ask the parent to bring in a Psychological Evaluation and/or an IEP. This allows us to observe and evaluate the child to see if the school meets the child’s needs. The teacher will administer non-standardized tests to determine what academic level the child is in as well as observe his or her behavior. The teacher will have the opportunity to review the IEP and the Psychological Evaluation as well. Once it is determined whether or not the child is fit for the setting, we will proceed with the admissions process.
