Marlene F. Hernandez
Marlene Hernandez is director of Atlantis Academy Miami and has worked in education for over 22 years. Her previous educational experience includes positions as a special education classroom teacher, reading coach, high school dual enrollment coordinator and vice principal of academics. Marlene is a graduate of Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., where she earned a bachelor’s degree in varying exceptionalities, a specialist degree in educational leadership and a master’s degree in reading. She is certified by the Florida Department of Education and is a member of the Alpha Chi National Honor Society, National Association of Secondary School Principals and American Federation of Teachers. Marlene is committed to the advancement of learning through research-based strategies and universal design for learning, while recognizing and honoring individual variability and diversity.
Lishachy Santana currently serves as the assistant director of Atlantis Academy Miami. Her previous special education administration experience includes positions as a program manager, risk manager and targeted case manager. Lisachy’s background includes program compliance, staff supervision and implementation, as well as curriculum. Lisachy earned her bachelor’s degree in public administration at Florida International University in Miami and an associate degree in speech pathology and audiology at Miami-Dade College. She currently holds a certification in inclusion of children with autism spectrum disorder and social emotional learning trends. Lisachy is passionate about student learning and assisting teachers and the community. She views our collaborative school environment as key to creating successful teachers and students.
