Elementary Reading Teacher and Elementary Team Leader
Phyllis Jacobs has been teaching reading at Atlantis Academy Miami for 34 years and now serves as the elementary team leader and reading teacher. Phyllis sought an environment where students’ individualized academic and social needs are prioritized, so she joined Atlantis Academy. She enjoys working with a small teacher-to-student ratio and having the freedom to adjust the curriculum to fit each students’ learning style and academic and social needs. She finds this teaching style increases her students’ motivation and learning. After more than three decades with Atlantis, she sometimes teaches children of former students.
